Top 5 Sneakers of 2019 SS

2019 has been a challenging and competitive year for sneakers! With some companies slightly faltering, and some brands stepping up to the plate. This list is totally opinion based and is reliant upon multiple factors, being hype, # of sales, wearability, and just plain what I felt deserved to be the hottest summer shoes of 2019. These are all shoes that not only dropped in the summer time, but what we think would be a good fit for summer styles!

At the top of our list we are going to start with the #1 spot!

sacai Newports

1.

Nike LD X Waffle Sacai Green Multi

With a very competitive summer, the #1 spot was highly contended. However, I felt as if the Sacai’s deserved this spot the most. Not only are they sleek, futuristic, and innovative, but the Sacai combines two silhouettes, the LDV and the Waffle Daybreak! Dropping in multiple colorways that are perfect for the summer, my favorite would be the “Newport” colorway! One of the most popular shoes this summer, over 6,700 pairs of just the “Newport” colorway has been sold as of the time of writing this article!

2.

Jordan 1 Retro High X Travis Scott

Travis Scotts

Next on our list is this Jordan 1, designed by Houston’s own, Travis Scott! A huge part of Nike’s history has been influenced by all aspects of culture. Nike has collaborated with major influences in all realms, sports, music, artists, and even other brands. No matter how many people Nike has collaborated with, there has not been a single artist who has established more hype surrounding their collaboration other than Travis Scott. With over 19,000 pairs sold, selling on average for over $1,000 on the resale market! Travis kept his co-lab quite simple, opting for a backwards Nike Swoosh, plus a neutral Mocha base, makes it a great color for the summertime!

Cactus Fleas

3.

Air VaporMax ‘19 X Cactus Plant Flea Market

Coming in #3 on our list is the “Cactus Fleas”. A very modern and stylish look into the future of sneakers. These shoes display an expert combination of craftsmanship and ingenuity. Redesigning a VaporMax silhouette, and taking it to a new level. Implementing 3D layers, utilizing a bright green Nike Swoosh, as well as their iconic slogan “Just Do It” in puffy lettering. These sneakers are very technically crafted as well, with a VaporMax sole that is a translucent gradient from red, to a dark blue, nearly black color. This is a perfect sneaker for technically influenced summer fits!

Off-White Air Force 1

4.

Air Force 1 Low X Off-White MCA University Blue

Unsurprisingly, an Off-White x Nike co-lab has made our list, with this dynamic duo being one of the strongest running collaborations. Nearly each shoe is selling out and doing numbers! Off-White has recently blown up, and this pair of Air Force 1’s really shows it. The premiere of these sneakers being in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and then further being sold at ComplexCon Chicago! This has a lot of relevance to Virgil as he went to school in Chicago, and also made his name there, meeting many artists including Kanye West! This shoe comes in a light blue, and features a silver Nike Swoosh on the side, making it a highly wearable sneaker, and a nice remake of an old classic.

5.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Static Black (Reflective)

For the #5 spot in our list we have a sneaker that has been riding on the hype for a couple years now. The Yeezy 350’s are a solid sneaker, but hasn’t seen much innovation lately. However it has been a high performer lately, being seen nearly everywhere as of late. Not only is this a very popular sneaker, but it is minimalistic enough to be able to be worn with many fits, and styles. There has been slight additions to these shoes, slightly modifying the silhouette, and adding 3M to differentiate these from their predecessors and giving it more of a futuristic effect.
