Travis Scott x Jordan 1

Following one of the most anticipated sneakers drops of the year, Travis Scott's Jordan 1 "Cactus Jack" have been heavily sought after and even hard to come by. These kicks originally dropped by surprise in February during Scott's Grammy performance of "Stop trying to be god" and "No bystanders" where he showcased the shoes styled with the orange laces. As expected, the Quick Strike left many fans disappointed, but to their luck Jordan scheduled its actual release in early May. The quick strike pairs were valued for incredible amounts rivaling some of the Virgil Abloh collection with resell at around 1600 USD on feb 10. The shoes peaked at 2700 USD in early April, eventually settling down at around 1000 USD as of the end of May.

So, what is it about the shoes that caused Nikes North American servers to be shut down? The hype that followed these kicks come from few factors.

1. Travis Scott is undeniably one of the most successful rappers in today’s game and with a fanbase only some people could dream of. He is an Icon in the music business and that’s not up for debate.

2. The air Jordan 1 Silhouette is iconic all on its own, and the influence Travis brought to the table lead to Nike having the first “Backwards Nike Swoosh” on an air Jordan 1.

3. They were much more limited than the public expected. It was almost like a second quick strike on the actual release date.

We have seen quite a few dope kicks drop in 2019, but these babies have taken the mantle as Sneaker of the Year and we are eager to see og the to the lows perform which are slated to release this September.
