Chuck Taylor’s get a high end fashion redesign

Utilizing motifs commonly found in high end designer products, Converse decides to give its staple Chuck Taylor All-Star silhouette a modernized design in its latest reiteration.

In the past few years we have seen Converse work with many new designers and they have turned out some very unique and innovative designs, utilizing some of the heavy hitters of modern design such as Virgil Abloh, Rei Kawakubo of CDG, and Tyler the Creator. We have seen converse create some very aesthetically pleasing designs. However it seems they are pushing through boundaries and digging even deeper.

In their latest drop Converse has redesigned their classic shoe using all iridescent material, that is reminiscent of some Raf Simmons pieces we have seen in the past. Opening new doors for their brand, it shows that Converse is trying to push the envelope even further and providing luxury looking shoes for a very affordable price. Relative to the higher end products usually found, these converse are retailing for $65 USD, compared to the $400 that the Raf Simmons Iridescent velcros retailed for. We hope to see household brands start to tread into the territory of designer fashion, which will only lead to more innovation and price drops all around.
